October 2018

 4/10/18

It was a damp, murky start to the day and it felt like a proper Autumn Cornish morning!

I walked along the Degibna side of Loe Pool today, stopping to admire the trees, the leaves of which are turning the most glorious hues of ochre, russet and earthy browns.

I love the dark canopies that the trees provided with just glimpses of daylight through their branches. The leaves are really starting to fall now and I'm looking forward to seeing more of those beautiful Autumnal colours next time...

I started by walking down Degibna Lane as far as the track to the first farm. It was a beautiful sunny late October morning. The sun was casting a lovely golden glow, enhancing all the Autumnal colours. We've been very lucky this year to have had some beautiful, sunnyAutumn days which have been unusually warm too!

The trees were truly stunning and the leaves were falling, creating a russet and orange carpet on the paths. I really do love the colours this time of year. Autumn in Cornwall is quite magical!

I stopped to sketch from the field which backs onto the path which goes to Nansloe. New trees have been planted along the path and although they are still small, they are growing well. The view towards Loe Pool looked particularly gorgeous with all the trees changing colour. I wonder if they'll be any leaves left on the trees on my next walk in November?
