Finally the weather is warmer and it feels as if spring has finally arrived!

I entered the Penrose Estate from the Porthleven end and as the clifftop path is being rerouted after the falls during the winter, I walked the slightly more inland path.

It was cloudy at first but not windy and later the sun broke through the clouds leaving a glorious, spring day. I stopped at the bench looking towards Loe Bar and Poldhu and sketched cliffs under a leaden sky with the sea mist creeping up the valley.

This part of Penrose is so quiet with hardly any traffic noise and the birds were singing their hearts out which was lovely. with the amount of rain that we've had this winter, the walk was exceptionally muddy and I was glad I had brought my hiking stick with me! You can see the evidence of the mud on my shoes in the second photo!

A lovely warm day in Penrose. After a rather delayed start, Spring was really starting to get going. wild primroses, wild garlic and an abundance of hawthorn were flowering and the bluebells were just beginning to unfurl and blossom.

It was such a beautiful day that I spent most of the day there walking, photographing and soaking in the atmosphere. I'm hoping to go back soon as the bluebells open properly to see the woodland floor transformed into a carpet of blue!
